Spending a holiday in Marsa Alam mean relaxation time, lots of nature and crystal clear waters where you can dive.
Marsa Asalaya Nice dive site, starts from the shore of this shallow bay. In the shallow parts of this bay the visibility can be a little bit disappointing but this will soon get better as the bay gets deeper. The north site of this bay seems to be the best with nice coral structures. Nudibranchs can almost always been seen at this site. We saw two pyjama slugs. We also encountered a Napoleonfish, a giant moray, blue bar trevallies, batfish, cigar wrasse and a nice grouper... Great place for an easy dive
Abu Dabbab
A great day out for divers and non-diving family or friends. Travel by bus to Abu Dabab where the options include relaxing on the beach, swimming or snorkelling in this famous site. In the lovely coral gardens, overhangs and swim throughs its possible to see Blue Spotted Rays, Stone Fish and crocodile fish. Swimming over the sea grass offers a high chance to encounter Guitar sharks, several large green turtles as well as the Dugong. A perfect way to spend a day at the beach where the children are safe and the snorkelling is great for all ages.
Shaab Paradise This magnificent coral reef is accessible only 20 minutes by boat from the port of Marsa Alam. These 3 dive sites are on a 2km long coral reef which grows on a sandy bottom up to the surface. Nice coral and lots of reef fishes.Chance to meet dolphins and swim with them. Small caves and canyons. The duration of the excursion is all day with lunch served on board.
Shaab Samadai - Dolphin House The reef, aprox 5Km southeast of Marsa Alam, forms a crescent shape with the shallow wall forming into small overhangs with coral towers at the western end, enjoyed both by divers and snorkellers. Within the reef a shallow lagoon has a sand bed with seagrass which is worth investigating as it houses plenty of life including elusive seahorses. The lagoon has also become a favourite haunt of a large pod of Spinner Dolphins. The Dolphins have become such a draw that rangers now control visitor interaction to minimise negative impacts. The lagoon has designated zones to provide areas off-limits to divers and Dolphin only space.Diving at Samadai Dolphin House is accessible for beginner divers as well as advanced divers, also marvelous for those who are simply enjoying snorkeling.
Marsa Shoona
A few kilometers from the resort, this blue lagoon offers many emotions living in direct contact with nature. |
